Question Hungarian restaurant

A friend of mine is toying with the idea of opening a Hungarian restaurant in the area and has asked me to get some views on the idea.....
Ok you ask, what do they eat in Hungary ? Well it seems that there is a traditional breakfast sounding similar to the English breakfast but with Hungarian sausages of couse and at Lunchtime a large hearty soup with bread and drinks and Dinner he tells me is based around soups and stews of various types including cold soups and fruit soups as well as Goulash, and desserts include a mountain of pancakes with creamy fruity sauce...sounds delicious to me but does anyone think it could be a success ?
All views and more info about Hungarian eating welcome ...

All seems a bit to heavy and stodgy to me. I have been to Romania, I suppose the food is similar, lots of stews and goulash all a bit bland for me I'm afraid, however there is lots of it and many courses for those people who really do like their food.

I'm willing to try most foods and it sounds interesting, but one thought crossed my mind - isn't it a little ambitious to consider opening a new business in this economic climate? We can't afford to eat out as often as we'd like to now and I'm sure there are others like us.

Default credit crunch

Thanks for your advice - I dont think that the Spanish market nor the Hungarian one has been so heavily hit by the so called "credit crunch"
as the Brits.

The thing is, one would expect the Brits to be regular customers, but if they can't afford to eat out as often...!

I don't dispute that, although the Brits do seem very prominent. Can you tell me of a race living over here that isn't going through hard times then?

Hi what a great idea, I would definately give it a try, I have never eaten Hungarian food and its completely different to what we have on offer locally at the moment. If your friend does decide to go ahead good luck to him.
