AUAN to meet with Javier Arenas, regional president of the PP
Aubsos Urbanisticos Almanzora No (AUAN), representing the interests of a large number of British families from the Almanzora Valley has asked for a meeting with the regional president of the Partido Popular, Javier Arenas, on the occasion of his visit to the capital city.
The meeting will be held next Friday 26th November, in the Gran Hotel in Almeria at 10am.
AUAN, which has for years been demanding a solution for its members’ homes is taking a new direction in its mission. According to the spokesperson for the group which represents the owners of homes with planning problems, Maura Hillen, "If our regional government will not or cannot solve these problems, we are obliged to take our concerns to the opposition parties. According to the Junta de Andalucia there are around 300,000 illegal homes in this region. We estimate that this impacts around 900,000 people and represents a total investment of around 60 billion euros. For this reason we cannot understand how the regional government does not take steps to solve this problem. Such a serious problem requires emergency surgery, not sticking plasters. Unfortunately, The Junta de Andalucia does not seem to understand this.” says Hillen.
