Do you or any body know of any english speaking solicitors who has expierence in demolition. My other in law built me a disable access single story house made of timber in alhuarin de torre as i have ms and am perminently in a wheel chair. we were told by our solicitor in spain when we were denownsed 2 years ago that we would have a fine only as we had a copy of the planning permission rules from the council and we followed them to the letter and stuck to the regulations. Her land is 12000m2 and out of that my property in taking up 1600m. We have just had a demolition order after all this and i dont know where to turn.

Matt, I sincerely sympathise with your plight. You haven´t said exactly what the problem is, or are you not sure yourself?

Is it that there are two buildings on the one piece of land? From your post it reads that your house is a second property, at least that is how it reads to me.

Anyway, whatever the problem actually is take a look at this company, who from the way their website reads are the firm that are acting for the AUAN. If any firm of solicitors would be able to help I should think they would.

All the best to you and I hope something can be done. Please be good enough to keep us posted on your situation.

Hi Mat,

I also sympathise with your situation.

There is a lawyer in Mojacar by the name of Michael J. Davies. Although I haven't used him, I've heard good reports. I believe he was brought up in Spain and is fully bi-lingual.

Sorry, but we was told by our Lawyer that that person does other work part time, but having said that we are having loads of problems with our Lawyer, so can`t be trusted!
And others have huge plights with this Lawyer as well, so we hope we can get together to try to stop this mess legally for all concerned.

Hello Barb,

Thats an interesting notion. Like all the other lawyers he is out of town a lot. Mainly at court battling other lawyers and trying to put thier rubbish right. He has no fear of other lawyers and has already put one well known lawyer in his place. Thats why they don't like him, he won't play thier stupid games. He is there to do a job and he does not care who gets in his way, he will do his best for his client. It will not cost anything to speak to him, as there is no charge for an initial consultation. (Now thats got to be refreshing to start with.) He has not been here for long but if you check on Viva Almeria you will find he already has a very good reference from a client. Once he has a larger client base in the area he will be here a lot more. Believe me, he is clever and he has very experienced legal back up. You have nothing to lose by speaking to him.
