In 2004 we did have a decent road surface tarmac all the way - but eventually a few potholes appeared which got bigger over the years -until in 2006 after many complaints by our nearest Spanish neighbour the council decided the were going to resurface nearly 6 Klms which now needed doing.
In 2007 they finally started but after the initial work only 5 Klms had been scraped ready for resurfacing - the last Klms which had the biggest potholes was not touched - on checking with the Jefe of the work force I was told his orders were to stop where he had stopped.
When they eventually got around to the tarmac being laid - they only did 3.5 Klms which just { by chance ? } took them past the entrance of the Spanish guy who had done the complaining - So not we have a good surface which goes into a surface which is now after 2 years nearly bare earth due to the original surface being scraped off but not resurfaced then going to a ' Tank Testing Track '
Everytime I enquire at the Ayuntamiento the answer is ' They have no money ' - they can find the money though for edifices to make the current Alcalde look good such as the tower on Avda de Equalidad - they can find the money to put street lamps every 30 ft on roads on which hardly anybody walks - did they not know most modern cars have headlights to light the way ?
They cannot find they money though for essential repairs - we have several neighbours further up the valley who now do long detours to avoid this road as they now class it to be to dangerous to use - but all this info makes no difference to the Ayuntamiento No Money !!
