I was wondering if anyone can help me,im moving to Spain with my 2 children in April next year,im also moving with my mum and step dad.My daughters are 5 and 10 i am hoping for them to go to Saliente school in Albox, but have read on another thread that it is hard to get into.Im also very worried about my 10 year old settling in especially after reading other threads. If anyone has a child around the same age who started and about there experience id be very grateful if u shared that with me,also how do i go about finding out if there are places going at Saliente school?Any answers gratefully received xx

Why  because an 11yr old girl, who has been in Spain 5yrs, makes the odd English spelling mistake- that´s what happens when you go to a Spanish school!
How sad you must be to think Steve - who has a child, would impersonate a reply to someone worried about their children settling in at a Spanish school.
What type of person do you think he is:mad: - and by the way I don´t know him personally

My grandaughter replied to this email hoping to help. She is a very intelligent girl, and yes there are some spelling mistakes. As the previous message says, that is what happens when our children read in Spanish because they read as it is written. Please Ceri do not take any notice of the odd cynical person that replies.
I hope your move goes well and you all settle. Albox in the main is a lovely friendly place, where most people will be glad to help. When the children go back to school in a couple of weeks time I will try and find out the position for entry to the school.
I also moved out here with my husband, daughter, son in law and their 2 children who at the time where 6 and 18 months.
Regards Pauline
(Sorry if I have made any spelling mistakes)

Hi Pauline, thanks for your message, you have a granddaughter to be proud of!
As of the spelling mistakes oh to be perfect,i under stood Lauras message perfectly and thats all that matters after all she is only 11!
That would be brilliant if you could find out about entry to the school,we are coming out for 4 days in October but doesnt leave me enough time to find all that kind of information out.So it would be very much appreciated!
You have obviously have been living in Albox for many years did u make the right decision to move? Was it a rude awakening settling in?Did ur son and daughter in law find work easy enough??Sorry to bombard you with questions,i suppose would just like to get a little insight to life in Albox x

Ceri please don't take this as a negative reply but if you all are expecting to find work here please be careful. The local economy here like the rest of Spain is approaching a recession and work is virtually impossible to find. The Spanish are suffering just as badly as everyone else. There are a lot of businesses closing and people relocating back to the UK. I don't want to shatter your dream but even us pensioners are suffering because of the disastrous drop in the exchange rate. I hope you have researched the area thoroughly as well in light of all the illegalities which have been much publicised.

Hola,
First of all, I do apologise if you took my reply as an attack on your spelling, there is a couple who post many a witty thread on another well known forum in this area and their spelling is terrible but it is done on purpose, they can both spell beautifully when they need to, in addition the have been a few impersonator's jumping between forums lately.
Unfortunately, I always try to look to post a humourous reply, I'm just a bit silly really and was not in any way having a pop at your grammar, so here's hoping you will forgive me.
