Hola,
Did anyone else see the "Bracken Report" on Living in Spain channel yesterday? It centered on the new Alcaldesa in Marbella and her intention to clean up the whole issue of illegality in her region.
Her aim is to give legal status to all completed buildings with no demolitions. Any properties under construction will be liable to possible demolition though.
The impression was to move on with a more black&white system with all information to be made available via the internet.
Surely it is in Spain's interest as a whole to watch and follow this example, in that drawing a line under the current mess would enable the Ayuntamiento's to collect revenues from all legalised properties, ease concerns from prospective new buyers etc, etc.
Anyway, hope it's repeated, they usually are.
