Hi, we are moving to the area at the end of the year and wondered if anyone had any experience of using the primary school virgen del saliente. We have a 4yr old boy and a 7 yr old girl. I have been reading about biilingual state schools and wondered if this school was biillingual. Any advice would be grateful. Thanks

Both my children went to the Virgen del Saliente school in Albox, and both received a very good level of education. Since leaving the school has had a total reform and is now in a much better state for children. Prior to that it had a big problem with the toilets and generally being run down. Your children will be bilingual anyway so I don't think there is any need to put them into a school that offers this. At there ages they should cope with learning the language but I would highly recommend that they have extra teaching and that you learn the language as well, if you don't know it already, as you will need to speak with the teachers at some point.

Thanks for the advice. I am learning at the moment a lot better than i thought actually, and i've got my daughter started with the basics, planning on extra lessons asap. Glad to hear good reports from the school, thanks.

My little boy is just about to start at Velazquez, which is up above the Medical centre in Albox. that is a bilingual school. I do know quite a few people, both english and spanish who have sent their children to Virgin del saliente and have been very happy with the results. They will also have a dedicated class for children that donīt currently speak enough spanish to join in with normal classes, to help them get up to speed.
Hope this helps
