Why when walking in the countryside I only ever get a glimpse of the odd 100mm gecko but when driving they are worse than pheasants back in the UK kamikaze pilots.Twice in a week I have had to avoid a tarmac hopping 300mm + beautiful gecko. Sadly I have stopped to move from the road a real beauty well over 300mm and all the colours of the rainbow deaded. Is there a secret to seeing them !!!!:confused:

They are not geckos you are seeing, they are lizards. The big, colourful ones are called Eyed Lizards. They unfortunately like tarmac roads as they pick the heat up....
