I thought this might be of interest to people,if you have ever visited Almanzora you may well have seen four elm trees in the main street, they were planted there 120 years ago by engineers working on the Railways.Recently they have been causing quite a stir as some people are claiming they are "ill" and need cutting down and also they are in the way of the new works going on in the high street.
The mayor of Cantoria has decided to put it to the vote and tomorrow evening between 6-8 pm the villagers are to decide the fate of the elm trees.
The Mayor has also offered to move the elm trees to another location but surely this would mean certain death for the trees.

What a tragedy, after 120 years people want to take out the trees (presumably because they are in the way.....). Surely an expert to check out if they are diseased would be the answer, and if not then they should stay.:(
