Hola,

Just wondered if anyone has applied for a building license or, for a boundary wall, perimeter fencing, something of this ilk to the Oria Ayuntamiento.

If so, we you asked to pay up front at the local bank down the road, ( a percentage of the estimated cost of the request), then await a decision?

I'm hearing that no money should be paid on an application only if granted, is this your experience?

When we applied for the building of a Nave we had to pay the tax upfront and yes we had to go to the bank to pay it and take the receipt back to the town hall. This was in Oria, shame we never got the plans passed :(

Hi all,
I'm new to the site and I am so glad I've found it.
I was interested to read that you need to apply for a building license for a perimeter wall. Is it the same for all areas? We have a house just outside Partaloa and have a large area to fence because we have a problem with dogs, both stray and pet running about and messing all over the place. So do we need to apply to the town hall to fence it off?
Any advise would be appreciated.

Many thanks:)

Hi Sterling,

From my experience, I would definitely apply for permission for perimeter fencing because we had a possible situation with some neighbours. Most locals where we live think that once they have paid and applied, they can go ahead with the work, back to the old "retrospective" approval!

Certainly with the Ayuntamiento in Oria, you must give them an idea of the cost of your materials and a drawing with measurements of the fencing and you will be asked to go to the Banco just down the road to pay a percentage of the cost of said materials, upon your return to the Ayuntamiento an application is filed and you will be told you will have to wait up to 3 months for a decision.

On another forum in this area, I was informed that with their Ayuntamiento, no money passes hands until the application is granted, so there is/are local variances, surprise surprise!

Might be best to ask at your Ayuntamiento about the process with themselves.

Many do not bother applying and will never have any problems, how's your luck?
