Junta de Andalucia - Heating Grants
With the tremendous increase in the cost of fossil fuels and the predictions of a colder winter expected, (than those recently experienced) it is the time to take advantage of some substantial payments from the government.
For the purchasers of renewable energy heating equipment there are grant payments of up to 65% being made by the Energy Agency of the Junta de Andalucia. For those that are unaware, these units come in the form of fires, stoves and boilers that burn either olive stones or pellets made from compressed sawdust.
These grants have been available since earlier this year, and now for the first time they cover most foreigners living here whether that be full or even part time. The documentation process has become much simplifer and an answer is given within days of an estimate being submitted to the Renewable Energy Engineering Department in Seville. This application is sent in on behalf of the customer by a company registered, licensed and insured to sell and install this equipment.
All of the grants on "Pellet Burners" come in the form of a discount with the client paying a net amount. No work is commenced or any party compromised until the client receives an "offer" nominating a, to-the-centimo, amount which is signed by both parties. The installation then takes place within 90 days.
Grants on olive stone boilers are subject to a slightly different process although much simpler and quicker than the past.
Basic requirements are a copy of both sides of a Residencia I.D. card or The National Police Certificate which shows a foreigner's fiscal number (beginning with an X). That must show the address of where the unit will be installed.
Renewable Energy heating systems are not cheap to buy, but cost a fraction of any alternative machine to run, and with such a handsome contribution from the authorities, they have never offered a better value solution to a cold house!
